NFADB has partnered with other DeafBlind family organizations to train family leaders.

The Family Advocacy Training & Education (FATE) trains family members who already possess leadership skills to advocate on issues important to the field of deaf-blindness.  The participants gain skills in advocacy, work together to develop actions around the national advocacy agenda, and all wishing to continue to advocate join the Family Advocacy Coalition Educating (FACE) for DeafBlind. This family coalition advocates and educates legislators at the state and national level about the needs of individuals who are DeafBlind.

These family leaders develop stories and talking points around the national advocacy agenda and then convene in Washington DC for the DeafBlind Day on the Hill to utilize the newly honed advocacy skills!

The National Family Association for DeafBlind (NFADB) welcomes you to our 2nd annual DeafBlind Days on the Hill. Family organizations and/or family leaders that support our DeafBlind community will join us on the hill!

This is the 2nd year that we will have a day on the hill focused on issues specific to individuals who are DeafBlind. We will be meeting in Washington DC if you are able to join us in person April 16 - 18, 2024. If you are unable to join in person, you can still meet with your legislators virtually.

In preparation, we will host two sessions via Zoom to prep for our DeafBlind Days on the Hill - March 5th & 26th, 2024. Our DeafBlind Days on the Hill - April 16 - 18, 2024.

Three (3) easy steps to add your voice to ours:

    1. Review our National Advocacy Agenda

    2. Find your Legislators

    3. Schedule a meeting with your legislators.

Please contact the FATE project lead with any questions:
