NFADB has partnered with other Deaf-Blind family organizations to train family leaders.

The Family Advocacy Training & Education (FATE) trained family members who already possessed leadership skills to advocate on issues important to the field of deaf-blindness. The participants gained skills in advocacy, worked together to develop actions around the national advocacy agenda, and have organized the Family Advocate Coalition Educating (FACE) for DeafBlind to advocate and educate legislators at the state and national level about the needs of individuals who are Deaf-Blind.

These family leaders will develop stories and talking points around the national advocacy agenda and then convene in Washington DC for the Day on the Hill for DeafBlind in April 2023 to utilize the newly honed advocacy skills!
